Definitely fit for the future

Wuppertal, 31 January 2024.  The guiding theme of this year's Hannover Messe is ‘Energising a sustainable industry’. In line with this, the Schmersal Group will be showcasing new products and systems for the safe, efficient and sustainable design of machinery and plants at what is the world’s most important industrial trade fair. Digitisation according to the principles of Industry 4.0 as well as increasingly scarce resources and advancing climate change are drivers of comprehensive changes in industrial production. With innovative safety and automation solutions, Schmersal supports companies in their digital transformation and in complying with high environmental and energy standards.

Other focus topics at Schmersal’s booth (stand D09, hall 09) will be future-proof solutions for safe food production and intralogistics.

The new Schmersal Cloud Solution – apps for energy management 
With Schmersal’s IIoT solution, data and information can be captured in production and sent to the back office for real-time analysis.  The basis of the IIoT solution is the field level, which includes networked sensors and actuators as well as safety switchgear devices. The Schmersal Cloud Solution acts as a link between the field and back office levels. The aim is to boost the efficiency of machinery and systems with condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs). In the future, Schmersal's cloud solution will also offer energy management apps that can be used to monitor power peaks and identify potential energy savings.

AZM40 solenoid interlock – compact design and low energy consumption
The AZM40 solenoid interlock has a compact design and requires little space. It also has a high locking force. Schmersal will be showcasing new variants at Hannover Messe 2024, including escape and emergency release for enhanced user safety. The addition of IP69 degree of protection now opens up additional potential uses. The user also benefits from reduced energy consumption with the AZM40: thanks to the bistable operating principle of the clamping device, more than 50 % of the power consumption can be saved compared to monostable locking devices.

New operating device series for food-processing machinery – durable and suitable for hygiene
The H series from Schmersal will be showcased at Hannover Messe 2024 as a full range of new command and signalling devices for hygiene-sensitive applications, particularly food processing. The focus of development for the series were the requirements of hygienic design. The devices contribute to hygiene in production and thus to food safety and the health of end consumers. 
The devices feature high-quality plastics for the operating surfaces, as well as stainless steel front rings, thus making them more resistant to dirt and aggressive cleaning agents, and characterising their durability in the long term. Long-term use also contributes to energy savings and resource conservation.
